Home compost is a great way of recycling your own unwanted wastes and reducing the pressures on our landfills and sewage systems. Our unwanted garbage and garden prunings which we often waste is raw food for our soil organisms who turn it into a great plant food. Depending on where and how you live, you can Home Compost all, or most, of your organic matter that your household produces. Living in an apartment still allows you to Kitchen Compost most of your garbage if you follow a few basic guidelines when setting up a worm farm. Yes it takes management, but it is a fascinating process and it can be of great interest to people of all ages, especially children. Every person with a garden should have a method of recycling weeds, prunings and leaves to keep the minerals that your garden has mined, thus reducing the need to put soluable fertilisers back onto the ground where it ultimately ends up in our water tables. Find a place where you can set up your own composting bins in a corner of your garden where they can be least noticed and most practical. There are a number of quality products available for you to choose from allowing you to find what suits you best, or you can make your own, although make sure the building materials are suitable and durable. It can often take a shift in attitude to change the way we do things, but if an increasing amount of us set up these simple recycling systems we can make a big difference to pollution of our planet. There are a lot of passionate people around us to help if you find it difficult, or think it too hard, but give it a try, realise you are helping your environment and you end up with your very own Home Compost.
